Taichung City Government Local Taxation Bureau said that many people believe that any land that is free for public passage can be exempted from land value tax, but in fact, if the land is a legal vacant land that should be reserved for building houses, it cannot be exempted from land value tax.<\/p>\n\n
The Inland Revenue Department further clarified that if the land originally belonged to the statutory vacant land of the construction base, after the issuance of the use license, the road land designated by the local government as a reserved land for public facilities in accordance with the provisions of the Urban Planning Law shall not be the statutory vacant land that should be reserved for the construction of houses as stipulated in the proviso to Article 9 of the Land Tax Reduction and Exemption Rules, and if it is actually used by the public free of charge, the land owner may still apply for exemption from land value tax.<\/p>\n\n
The bureau reminds the public that if the conditions are met, the land owner can apply before September 22, and the land value tax can be exempted in the current year, and if the application is overdue, it will be exempted from the following year of the application, and taxpayers must grasp the application deadline to protect their rights and interests.<\/p>\n\n
