Taichung News) The Local Taxation Bureau of the Taichung City Government said that if you hold land for free roads for public traffic, you can apply to the bureau for road tax exemption, but there are two requirements for roadway exemption from land value tax: 1. Roads for public traffic free of charge. 2. It is not a legal vacant land, and both are indispensable.
The Bureau further clarified that if there are building improvements, etc., or legal vacant land that should be reserved for building houses after verification, there is no exemption from land value tax, even though it is currently available for public use free of charge. If the land held by the public meets the requirements of the above reduction, please submit an application for exemption from land value tax before September 22 of the current year, and the exemption of land value tax will be applied from the current year, and if the application is overdue, it will only be applicable from the next year after the application.
